• We can talk about service dog tasks to see what your dog can be trained to do to help you.
  
• We can help you find the right gear to fit your service dog and that suit your disability.
  
• We can suggest books and online forums to help you train your service dog.
  
• We can help you be prepared for various emergency situations.
  

We have an intake process that all new clients go through. Our reasoning is two-fold; to help us learn the best ways to help you and to make sure you are not someone who just wants to take their dog everywhere. Sad to say, but Humboldt County has a big problem with people who fake their pets as service dogs.

Most of our services are free but if travelling is required or we have to appear in court, we may ask for a small donation to cover our fees. You may also make a donation at any time via the Paypal button on the About Us Page.


There are several things that Humboldt Service Dogs can't do for you.

• We can't convince your family to let you have a service dog.
  
• We don't train service dogs.
• We don't certify service dogs as there is no federally-recognized certification for service dogs. Note: Websites that sell service dog "certification" are scammers and anything they send you is completely worthless.
  
• We will not work with aggressive dogs.
  
• We do not support service dogs for children under 12, we will refer you onto a program that will work with you.
• We will not give information on service dog gear to those who have not gone through our intake process.
  
• We will not work with dogs over the age of 5 that are to be trained as service dogs. Emotional support animals can be of any age.
  
• We will NOT tell you how to break the law so you can sneak your pet into stores.
